Author and photographer James Stephen Behrens served in the Archdiocese of Newark for over twenty years. He took solemn vows as a Trappist monk in 2005 at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia. He contributes to The National Catholic Reporter and Living Faith. He is also the bestselling author of Be Gentle, Be Faithful (ISBN 978-0-87946-209-3), Memories of Grace (ISBN 978-0-87946-220-8), and Grace Is Everywhere (ISBN 978-0-87946-195-9). His 2007 book Portraits of Grace: Images and Words from the Monastery of the Holy Spirit (ISBN 978-0-87946-334-2) won the 2007 Production and Design Book Award from the Catholic Press Association.
