Donnie Elder has staked his future on Arcane Transport, a specialty courier for some very strange customers. He'd never imagined himself in the delivery business, but he's been out of work and his mother is calling twice a day, so he'll try anything.

On his first day at work, Donnie gets robbed at gunpoint, and his boss has a heart attack. Now Donnie is running Arcane all by himself, and problems are popping out of the woodwork. The dispatcher is angry at him for an incident involving a spilled love potion. One of the drivers has been cursed. And something is making a noise in the Lost and Found.

"... a witty mix of the magical and the mundane... promises to be the start of a clever and entertaining series." - Kirkus Reviews

But there’s too much going on here: As the first volume in an anticipated series, this novel spends a lot of time infodumping, and there are too many characters, segues and sidesteps before Donnie finally solves the mystery of the stolen package.
