Patience Brooks was born in Chicago, Illinois to Betty Brooks, who is also an author, and Luke Brooks Sr. She and her family moved to Fort Mitchell, Alabama when she was nearly four years old. Through grade school she has attained many awards for her writing and has several works of poetry in various anthologies. She graduated from Russell County High School in 2007. Overcoming personal trials and tribulations at a young age is what inspired her to write her first fiction novel. She is currently a full time student at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, working to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing. This is her debut novel, and is currently working on a collection of short stories, poetry, and several more novels. In her spare time, she likes to play classical piano, read, write, eat, and watch television while lounging on the couch.
