Book 3 of 5.
Greg was shaping up to be the best boyfriend Janelle ever had, but then his bigoted father turns up and Greg doesn't have the guts to admit he's dating a black woman.
Her sister sets her up on a blind date to help her put him firmly in the past, but it doesn't work out quite the way she planned and Janelle is left confused.
When Greg turns up and gives her a way to work through her anger, letting off steam leads to something even steamier.
Can she forgive him? And what will she say to his shocking offer?
This short story is roughly 9,400 words long and is not intended for readers under the age of eighteen.
Then I looked across the road and stopped short.
Greg was there waiting for me, sitting on his motorbike.
Neither of us waved or said hello. We simply stared at each other while I wondered if I should run away.
No. I wasn't some snivelling little girl. I could handle talking to him.
I crossed over, trying to look brisk and purposeful. "Greg." I nodded hello.
"Here." He held out a helmet that matched the one perched next to him on the seat.
I didn't take it.
"Go on. There's something I want to show you."
Curiosity warred with my pride. In the end, I gave in and took the helmet. A quip fell onto the tip of my tongue, but I bit it back. I wasn't exactly speaking to him.
"Make sure you hold on tight," he said as I fastened the strap under my chin and climbed up behind him. Thank goodness I'd worn trousers to work that day.
I did as he asked and got a noseful of leather jacket smell mixed in with his citrus cologne before I flipped down the visor. The scents went straight to the animal part of my brain and I couldn't resist holding him tighter than was strictly necessary.
When he turned on the engine, the vibrations got me thinking about things that were best left alone. Especially when I had my arms around a man with a fondness for cunnilingus. I wished I hadn't thought of that.
