Synopsis

Three black circles arranged in a very specific pattern, two of them paired together with a third placed directly between and below. A simple arrangement of rudimentary shapes, but one that has seized and destroyed the minds of many men.

Henry Johns, an associate professor of artistic study and one-time professional artist, is introduced to the trio of black circles by chance and begins his own investigation into the maddeningly simple pattern. His mission is simply to find out what the image represents, but his search yields little and the answer remains elusive.

Meanwhile the intellectual curiosity behind Henry's investigation gives way to a gnawing, unrelenting obsession, and the artist within drives Henry to desperate measures to find out the answers regarding the image. The answers are all that matter. What lies behind the three black circles? And to what length is Henry willing to go to find out?
