Synopsis

Hoppy is a wisecracking one-legged seagull who dreams of living on a southern beach, although it seems unlikely he will be able to get there.

Joe is a big scruffy dog who is lonely all day while his owner, Gino, works at his lemon-ice stand.

Then Hoppy and Joe meet. The two become friends, and they change each other's lives.

Betty and Michael Paraskevas, the creators of Junior Kroll, the Ferocious Beast, the Tangerine Bear, and other beloved picture book characters, introduce two of their most memorable characters in Hoppy and Joe.
