A hilarious romantic comedy by Romance Writers of America RITA Award Finalist by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jane Graves

She doesn't know he's a cop on vacation. He doesn't know she's a wrongly accused fugitive on the run. When the truth comes out, all hell breaks loose!

To escape a big, bad bounty hunter hot on her trail, Renee Esterhaus steps into a country diner and offers John DeMarco a night of unforgettable pleasure if he'll take her back to his cabin immediately. John knows something’s up with the beautiful blonde, but he ignores his cop instincts and takes her up on her offer. When Renee escapes with his car instead, John is furious. Once he grabs her again, he’s determined to haul her to jail, but it isn’t long before he starts to think that maybe she’s innocent after all.

Soon John and Renee are working together to clear her name, which means dodging his all-cop family, dealing with oddball suspects, staying one step ahead of a pissed-off bounty hunter—and trying to pretend they’re not falling in love!

I love hanging out with funny people. If you have a sense of humor, come sit next to me, because the best feeling on earth for me is to laugh myself silly. I have several wonderful friends who are so hilarious they make me practically wet my pants. Aside of my occasional need for Depends, I consider their humor to be no less than a gift from God.

Smile and the world smiles with you. Frown, and you’ll clear a room faster than a fire alarm. That's why I love hanging out with funny people, and why I love reading romantic comedy. I love the outrageous humor of Janet Evanovich, the sly wit of Jennifer Crusie, the colorful characterizations of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and the hilarous plot twists of Stephanie Bond. They're my go-to authors when I'm looking for my funny fix. And over the years, the biggest thrill I've gotten as an author is when readers and reviewers compare my work to these fabulous women.

So what do you find funny in a romantic comedy? Banter between characters who are smart and witty? Out of control situations that escalate wildly beyond a character’s ability to manage them? Fish out of water who have no clue how to behave in the crazy world they find themselves in? You'll see a little bit of all of these things in my romantic comedy.

People who read romantic comedy are usually witty people themselves, so if you and I happen to meet someday, I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble making me laugh. In the meantime, I hope I become one of the authors you go to when you need your funny fix!

If John is the passionate cop, his brothers Alex and Dave (soon to have their own novels, one suspects) are respectively the uptight cop and the laid back cop, with the latter showing up in a T-shirt that reads "Bad cop!
