Barbara Jean Hicks lives in Seattle, Washington, where she is author-in-residence at an elementary school. This is her first book for children. Alexis Deacon's previous book, Beegu, was a New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Book of the Year. He lives in London, England. Lilijana Praprotnik Zupancic (Lila Prap) was born in 1955 and is one of the most popular author/illustrators not only in Slovenia but increasingly in the rest of the world. She loves to draw animals and was a nominee for the Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration.
