Synopsis

When Atta came to America, he found that many immigrant self-help books focused on just one or a few topics, while others were so complicated that they were discouraging rather than helpful. It took a lot of time to find the information he needed. So he created a condensed lifestyle guide for immigrants—a road map for the whole family, filled with proven tips and strategies that can be used from the birth of a child to retirement and beyond. With this easy-to-follow guide, you’ll: discover hundreds of valuable U.S. and Canadian resources; get handy, time-saving worksheets and checklists; find an easy-to-understand glossary for looking up unfamiliar terms; and learn valuable advice from “Atta’s Lessons” so you can avoid making the same mistakes he did.

Atta Arghandiwal was born in Afghanistan but has spent over half of his life in the West. He left Afghanistan eight months after the Russian invasion, in August of 1980, and became a refugee in Germany. He later immigrated to the United States, where he built a successful banking career over twenty-eight years. With deep passion and pride in his heritage, Arghandiwal has written the true Afghan story in order to increase awareness about his country's political upheaval and the innocent people caught in the chaos.
