Synopsis

This book has been retitled, updated, and is now being marketed as "The Lord's Prayer: Finding New Meanings Within the Language Jesus Spoke."

When Jesus taught his disciples to pray the Lord’s Prayer, they received the prayer from an Aramaic perspective that offered many levels of spiritual meaning. The beloved “Our Father” provides expanded meanings when the Lord’s Prayer is interpreted and prayed with the foundation of the language Jesus spoke in mind.

As readers learn the history of the Lord’s Prayer and study each phrase, they will recognize a profound framework for spiritual growth. Building around God’s desire for unity among all creation, each petition is explored to reveal internal, external, literal, metaphorical, and mystical treasures common to the Aramaic language. In Living Color: The Lord's Prayer concludes with small group bible study questions related to scripture and to the participants’ life experience to explore how praying and meditating with new perspectives on the traditional words of the Lord’s Prayer rooted in the language Jesus spoke can help Christians grow spiritually.
