When Sam accidentally opens a strange box and suddenly finds himself sitting in the principal’s office of an intergalactic middle school, he is pressed to take on the challenge of capturing an obnoxious, shape-shifting alien, Exeter Lar Junderpanz. When the rude, sloppy, and gross alien transforms into a copy of Sam, our hero’s middle school reputation, already precarious, is in deep trouble. Will Sam beat the burping, nose-picking alien? Or will he be so far out at school that he might as well be in space?

Caroline Luzzatto has never been tormented by an alien imposter, but she was tormented by her two big brothers, who nicknamed her "Ugmodo" (short for "ugly komodo dragon") and threatened to trade her for a couple of good record albums. Now she lives with her husband, three children, and ten fish in Virginia, where she writes children's books, wears her pajamas all day long, and usually eats her dessert before she eats her dinner.
