Jamie Marshall was an ordinary thirteen-year-old, but he didn’t feel like one. He still enjoyed playing outside with his Magic Digger that he could change its shape from large to small just by inserting the right key. And cleaning it up from a day of playing in the wet sand was a breeze, just by sitting on it and wishing it to be clean. One evening, Jamie and Digger found a strange statue of a griffin—part eagle, part lion—buried in sand. The next day at school, it comes to life, attacking the school bully. The next morning, Jamie finds a man from his nightmares standing in his bedroom, telling him it’s time he goes on the journey he’s been longing for all his life. Jamie feels so different than kids. Jamie can hear another’s thoughts as loudly as if he spoke the words out loud. Jamie, Digger and Griffin set out on an amazing journey to discover the answers to Jamie’s soul-searching quest.
