With delightful winks to his Olympians series (the Egyptian Gods are based in Brooklyn, because Manhattan is already taken), Riordan sustains a world filled with gods, magic, and heroes while creating a completely new premise and worldview.

It’s been some time since my youngest son and I read The Red Pyramid by the ever-prolific Rick Riordan, but the latest graphic novelization of the first book in the Kane Chronicles stories brought it all back to both of us.
