L.A. Unified by Mike Flax
Diary of a First-Year Teacher at One of America's Worst Schools

No critic rating

Waiting for minimum critic reviews

Welcome to Pico-Union, one of America’s worst performing schools in one of Los Angeles’s most brutal neighborhoods. The students are apathetic and hostile, the teachers are cynical and burned out, and the administrators are out of touch. Weapons, failing grades, and brawls are the norm; homework, reading, and safety are fantasy. Here, survival precedes learning.
