AUGUSTO FAILDE: After the unexpected loss of his mother, and being unprepared to deal with the loss and grief - Augusto and his brothers channeled their grief into a non-profit online community effort to help others grieving. They launched, which in six months has become one of the leading online directories of grief support resources on the web, and often found on first page online searches for Grief Support Directory, Grief & Our Health, Grief Attacks, and others. Mr. Failde is also the co-author of one of the first Business Self-Help books for the US Latino population - Simon & Schuster's "Latino Success" (English) / "Exito Latino" (Spanish). https: // Professionally, Augusto is a senior international executive engaged in the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), International Higher Education, and Venture Capital industries. He is a co-founder of, and creator of one of the leading MOOCs Provider Directories, Mr. Failde holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Stanford University. MAY CHAO: A few months after painfully facing the death of her beloved mother, May again faced unimaginable pain with the unexpected death of her sister followed by two additional family members. It is her very personal lessons from this unsolicited grief journey that led May to this project. May graduated from Wellesley College, Summa Cum Laude, as a Wellesley College Scholar with a B.A. in Economics in three and a half years where she also earned Freshman Distinction and was Business Editor of the Wellesley News. As a Commissioner for the New York State Governor, she served as Chairperson and Executive Director of the New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB). CPB's core mission is to protect New Yorkers by publicizing unscrupulous and questionable business practices and product recalls; conducting investigations and hearings; enforcing the "Do Not Call" Law; researching issues; developing legislation; creating consumer education programs and materials; responding to individual marketplace complaints by securing voluntary agreements; and, representing the interests of consumers before the Public Service Commission (PSC) and other State and federal agencies. William Doyle is Professor of History at the University of Bristol.
