He served as associate chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Vicki Mendiratta, MD is an Assistant Professor and Director of Third-Year Clerkship in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Sharon Phelan MD, FACOG is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of New Mexico Health Science Center - School of Medicine. Roger Smith has written for television and films since the early sixties; his screenplays include "Up the Junction". He has worked with Ken Loach as a script consultant for the past fifteen years and is also a theater director.
