The story line moves forward on two subplots; the two cops seeking to rescue Jillian, and the Rivers-MacGregor spin of is he the killer or her savior.

The best part is that although some crucial questions are answered, the novel ends in a shocking cliffhanger that beautifully sets the stage for the next novel in this series, 'Chosen To Die'.
