Synopsis

This book tells a true story. In 1945, the defeated Germany was fully occupied. Like the other Germans, the family of Barbie struggled in the flames at the end of the World War II. The father was called to fight at the frontline in Soviet; little Barbie and her sister Ivy lost touch with their mother in the war. Encouraged by her sister Ivy, the seven-year-old Barbie closely followed her sister on the road of finding their mother. The longing for their mother and home supported them to cover the journey more than three hundred kilometers and they hiked across more than half of the Germany.
