MICHELLE LORD is the author of Lee & Low's Little Sap and Monsieur Rodin. She fell in love with the culture of Cambodia when she traveled there to adopt her younger daughter, and first learned about Arn Chorn-Pond from the documentary The Flute Player. Lord lives in New Braunfels, Texas, with her husband and their three children. FELICIA HOSHINO is a full-time illustrator and graphic designer. She has a background in Japanese classical dance, which she performed as a child. To research the movements and poses for this book, she visited a local Cambodian dance group. Hoshino lives in San Francisco, California. This is her first picture book.
