Synopsis

Twelve year old, Tess, who lives near Seattle, Washington, is looking forward to a family road trip after school gets out. Little did she dream of the life changing events that would happen on that trip. When they stop to visit relatives just east of Spokane, Washington, her world gets turned upside down by a field of llamas across the street. When she and her dad go to see them, Tess is shocked to find she can talk to the llamas and they can talk to her. They end up spending their whole vacation right there. This is the first book of the Tess series, where she and the animals she meets confront both animal and human problems you hear about in the news. These books introduce different problems to young readers in a fun but informative manner and hopefully will allow parents to discuss these issues with their children.
