"This book is a poignant exploration into the world of mental illness that is simultaneously deeply disturbing and salaciously spellbinding. It is sure to resonate with readers long after the last page is turned. The brilliance of this storyline—and it is brilliant—is in the author’s use of the unreliable narrator."

Synopsis

In this surreal story of sadomasochistic erotica, mentally ill Georgie Gust seeks "the never-ending orgasm," becoming obsessed with Claudia, "his personal trainer in pain." Some readers will need to summon patience to cope with the book's confusing beginning, its challenging narrators, and abrupt scene changes. But the author's difficult approach ultimately pays off, enacting the confusion and turmoil of Georgie's mind. Believably flawed characters advance the plot compellingly. -- The BookLife Prize in Fiction
