Mayatenango is a fictional historical novel that takes place during the civil war in Central America in the 1980's. As a young and intrepid reporter, Marco Julio Carrasco, is whirled by the winds of fate to the land of the Mayas. A tropical paradise in the mist of a civil war. The novel reflects the painful journey forced upon this young man who is made to choose between good and evil. His future prophesized by a witch, a mayan priest and an opressed people, all who believed he had been their prince during the Spanish conquest of the Mayas. Marco Julio is compelled to travel to the underworld to rescue his beloved and face the many lives he has lived.
