"The story as whole is engaging, the many mysteries enough to keep readers interested, and Addie is a loveable protagonist in her own way. However, the plot is overly complicated and it’s difficult to keep track of the plentiful, and often unnecessary, secondary characters."

Synopsis

Part One is on a 1920’s silk Baron, who and wife are found murdered, perpetrated we later learn by son of the rival bought out by flourishing Baron. Addie who made a name for herself running Church Nursery School, also accumulates spicy sexual adventures with a variety of lovers, some fetishistic, some comical. Man she dearly falls in love with is victim of revenge killing. She in time becomes the adversary of Tough Tony, pseudo Mafia. He threatens gang rape, based on her past & she retaliates by setting fire to his prize warehouses. In his heyday, The Baron had built himself a Castle based on the Hohenzollern he’d seen in Germany. Addie seeks refuge by closing herself and 2 kiddies (one hers) in the Castle, which she sets fire to, as she escapes and is last seen riding a bike down a backyard trail, with a diaphanous scarf that flows in her wake.
