If I have any complaint about Magic Binds, it would be that the long build-up to the conflict with Roland fizzles a bit in the end. But that’s a relatively minor quibble. Magic Binds was a terrifically exciting, compelling read.

Synopsis

The new, “heart-stopping”* novel in the New York Times bestselling series that “defines urban fantasy.”*

Mercenary Kate Daniels knows all too well that magic in post-Shift Atlanta is a dangerous business. But nothing she’s faced could have prepared her for this...

Kate and the former Beast Lord Curran Lennart are finally making their relationship official. But there are some steep obstacles standing in the way of their walk to the altar...

Kate’s father, Roland, has kidnapped the demigod Saiman and is slowly bleeding him dry in his never-ending bid for power. A Witch Oracle has predicted that if Kate marries the man she loves, Atlanta will burn and she will lose him forever. And the only person Kate can ask for help is long dead.

Kate Daniels is still one of my favourite series’ even if Magic Binds perhaps not the strongest instalment. From a romance perspective (and let’s face it, that’s a perspective I’m always going to have) there are some sweet and charming “awww” moments. Plus, there’s a wedding. What’s not to love about a wedding?

As far as that last line…. Yeah… just yeah. I can’t even imagine how this will change this series going forward. But I’m ready. Bring. It. On. Final Grade-A

...a few of the secondary characters that I love get a lot of screen time, including Roman, Teddy Jo, and Christopher. Yeah, no spoilers, but Christopher is something special this time. And so is the scene with the tutu. Enjoy!

As she does so perfectly in every book, Andrews deftly balances witty humor, intense emotion and brilliantly choreographed action scenes.
