Bankrupt barkeep Ed O’Brien wants his bar back and all that stands in his way is a “little” hacking job for some Gothic gangsters. Ed’s no hacker but it’s not what you know but who, and one of his former patrons is a reformed hacker. All Ed has to do is un-reform him, break into a corrupt pharmaceutical corporation’s computers and then get his payoff from the gangsters, all without his wife finding out he’s quit his job – a piece of cake!

But what do you do when you sell your soul and find out you’ve been swindled? Will the desperate cunning of a Gulf War veteran, his wife, and drinking buddies prove up to the struggle? What happens to the odds when a corrupt pharmaceutical company, a 400-year old lawyer and a secret paranormal government conspiracy are added to the mix? Will Ed and Ann end up on top – or drained corpses six feet under?

Maitre’d to the Damned is a serious old-school vampire novel where the hero isn’t the one with fangs.
