Synopsis

Shortlisted for the Whitbread Fiction Prize.A novel from the author of BLUEGLASS about a young boy, found in the Brazilian rainforest as an abandoned infant from a tribe which has been wiped out, who concludes that because of his strange appearance he is some kind of ape and has to learn to pass as a person if he is to survive in 20th century England.
