Synopsis

"Born after the First World War and living in the U.K. through the Second I have seen many changes both in the U.K. and Canada; which I came to love.

My life has been of delight and surprises with some melodrama which my husband and I experiences together and which was completely unwarranted! he was a most marvellous and gentle man and my delight for over fifty years and did not deserve what fate had in store for him!

We had many good holidays with friends in the West Indies over several years and of the four of them I still have one living in Toronto. Other friends were made in Florida where we had a mobile home for several years but no longer. I miss the times in Sarasota where I attended life sessions in Art. A living model is delightful, one of whom had eighteen different costumes!

Now I am in a community of older citizens where we experience a full life for the elderly, complete with theatre, pool, exercise sessions, and numerous entertainment - could one ask for more?"

At the present time she has had 85 good years on Earth. Her life has been as full and as interesting as one could ever wish. Born in 1923 in a wonderfully interesting town in the U.K. next to an Abbey which in part dates back to the 1100s, living through the War years there and hearing Coventry bombed and obliterated, She came to Canada in 1947 to marry her fianceacute;, a Brit born in the same town in Shropshire. Living in Montreal, Canada, for over fifty years she was Secretary down town for over three years then became the mother of a girl and two boys in six years. Running short of money then she became a Real Estate Agent for the next 30 years, sold houses in two languages and loved every minute! To relieve the work of Motherhood she took up portrait painting when her eldest child was seven and is still so doing. At the present time she has them on view once a year for a month in the Clubhouse of this delightful location. Life has been very full and interesting and let us hope it will continue to be so.
