A farce involving a nameless schlep who is so socially inept that he imagines he is in a romantic relationship with a female artist named Neeko but in reality he is nothing more than an unpaid laborer.
Neeko keeps him around because, for one thing, no one else would ever put up with her Diva attitude but mainly because the delusional 'boyfriend' has a van.
Neeko needs that van to get her art installations from one place to another.
My goal here was to create a scenario that played heavily on a kind of blunt irony. No real life person would ever be so dense as the male character in this story is but still it was fun coming up with rationalizations for him to explain away Neeko's obvious contempt of him.
I think I came up with a very plausible piece of conceptual art in the actual 'Mother's Bed' in the story. It was suggested by things I've seen over the years but this particular configuration was my own concept.
And, by the way, there is some raunchy sex thrown in there to keep things lively.
