Synopsis

"NEWS ABOUT COLORED PEOPLE is an amusing look back to the mid-sixties. It focuses on the lives of three young African American girls during a very special Fourth of July holiday.

Doris Marie, Lillian, and Sheritha have been friends since elementary school. Now that they are in junior high with freshman year on the horizon, the girls soon discover that their lives are changing fast.

From Doris Marie's self-appointed boyfriend since fifth grade to the trio's obsession with Smokey Robinson, 1967 was indeed a 'Summer of Love' for the girls.

This is a story for all ages. It will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Most of the time you find yourself laughing out loud. There will also be moments when you will find a tear forming from some selfless act of kindness.

NEWS ABOUT COLORED PEOPLE will surely warm the hearts of its readers"
