David Michael Slater lives in Portland, Oregon, and teaches Seventh Grade Language Arts. David also enjoys writing for children, young adults, and grown-ups. Some of his other titles include Cheese Louise, The Ring Bear (an SSLI-Honor Book), and Jacques & Spock (a Children's Book-of-the Month Alternate Selection). Brooks has provided illustrations to a wide range of clients since graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in fine arts. He lives in the Washington, DC area.
