Some Secrets

When Liv Dugan ducks out of work for lunch, it's just an ordinary day. When she returns, she stumbles onto a massacre. All her colleagues at Zuma Software have been shot. Only luck has left Liv unscathed, and that might be running out. . .

Will Follow You

Liv suspects the shootings are tied to her past--and to the package she recently received from her long-dead adoptive mother. Sensing she's being followed, Liv jumps into a stranger's car and orders him to drive. Her "hostage" complies, listening carefully as her story unwinds. Skeptical at first, he ultimately begins to believe all Liv's fears are justified. . .

To Your Grave

Together, Liv and her unlikely confidant try to uncover the truth about her adoptive family, her birth parents, and her troubled childhood. Because somewhere in Liv's past is a secret worth killing for, and a nightmare she can never outrun. . .

Bestselling author Nancy Bush has had an eclectic writing career. Nancy began her career in the romance genre, writing both contemporary and historical novels, but being a mystery buff, she kept trying to add suspense into the plot, as much as her editors would allow. She then became a breakdown writer for ALL MY CHILDREN.When Nancy returned to her home state of Oregon she channeled that newfound energy into writing the kind of books she's always loved: mysteries. For the last several years she's turned her attention to romantic suspense novels, writing both with her NYT Bestselling Author and sister, Lisa Jackson, and on her own. Like Lisa, she's now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, both in her co-writing ventures and on her own merits as well.

...August Rafferty is in the driver’s seat, and he allows her to kidnap him while trying to figure out how he can help her. Together, the two unravel the tangled, shocking truth . Plenty of suspense and a dollop of romance give this broad appeal.

I wish this hadn't been labeled as a romantic suspense, though. For all that Liv was a great main character, and her damage made her realistic and believable, I don't think it made her a great romantic heroine. She was just a little too broken for me to really engage with her in a romantic role.
