Synopsis

There's a serial killer loose in the Oklahoma Panhandle, where the sun is hot, the sky is blue and the wind is rough. The killer is hunted by the FBI and detectives and deputies from Boise City, which sits at the very end of the Panhandle. Meanwhile, two wife beaters are murdered, and these murders are investigated by an Oklahoma State Bureau Investigator, who believes he knows who killed them. Through it all, the Sheriff's Department moves prisoners, patrols the roads and interstates, while the serial killer will have to keep his wits about him if he is to remain free of the attentions of Deputy Callista Hedges. She's mean with a knife.
