Maxine Sullivan credits her mother for her lifelong love of romance novels, so it was a natural progression for her to want to write them. This led to over twenty years of submitting stories to the Harlequin Mills and Boon line, working hard at learning her craft with each manuscript and with each rejection. Maxine still has one of those very first rejections dated August 1986, and looks upon it as a symbol of never giving up on her dream of being published. That dream came true in 2006 when Maxine entered a writing contest on that led to her first sale to the Silhouette Desire imprint. How fitting that the day the senior editor called was January 26—Australia Day in Maxine's country. Maxine also writes short stories and has had success selling them to magazines worldwide. She currently lives in Melbourne, Australia, but has traveled to New Zealand, the UK and the USA. In her own backyard, she has visited and lived in many places in Australia, including many years in Darwin in the tropical north, where some of her books are set. She is married to Geoff, who has proven his hero status many times over the years. They have two handsome sons and an assortment of previously abandoned animals. Maxine is thrilled to be the second Australian to write for the Silhouette Desire line. Writing for Silhouette Desire has been a dream come true for her in many ways! She is married to the man she met in Fantasyland, and they live in central Florida with their two children.Writers can contact her at While still in her teens, Anna DePalo began her first novel. She wishes she could say this early manuscript went on to receive numerous accolades and bring her fame and fortune. Instead, that first attempt — well, all three pages of it — hit the trash heap, and she understood why many authors throughout history have burned their papers for posterity. Anna went on to live in Italy and England, graduate from Harvard, earn an advanced degree in political science, practice intellectual property law, and marry the man of her dreams. One day, Anna decided to give fiction writing another try, believing that having done some more living would help her tell the truth about life in the pages of made-up stories. This time she didn't stop at three pages — or even 93. Writing during weekends and evenings, after working long days as an attorney, she finally typed her first "The End." That first finished manuscript, Having the Tycoon's Baby, soon sold to the Silhouette series, became a bestseller and award winner, and has been published in over 10 countries to date. These days, Anna has happily traded a lawyer's navy-blue suits for a full-time writer's blue jeans and is given to toasting new story beginnings while ensconced in front of her home-office computer. Sprinklings of magic, deepest wishes come true—she was hooked! Picture books with glass slippers later gave way to romance novels. When she was older, she wanted to write one. In junior high, however, Robyn hit a stumbling block—a disheartening grade of one out of ten for a book review. Confused and hurt, she asked her one-hundred-and-thirty-year-old English teacher why she received such a low mark. The wizened schoolmarm sniffed, "You obviously had a senior do it for you." Thankfully Robyn's business teacher was a honey. Following a fifteen-year career behind the scenes in television, Robyn knew the time was right to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. With thirteen contest finals in 2006, she was taken on by a New York agent and sold in a matter of weeks, first to Silhouette Desire, then Modern Heat (Presents) with a two book deal. She is currently writing her fifth manuscript and looking forward to her first online read appearing on eHarlequin, her favorite cyber place to hang out.Robyn lives with her own modern-day hero on Australia's Sunshine Coast with their three little princesses, as well as two poodles and a cat called Tinkie. She has majors in English literature and psychology and loves new shoes, worn jeans, visits to the theatre and lunches at picturesque Moffat Beach with her writer friends. Visit her website and don't forget to say hi! She'd love to hear from you.
