Readers will love this endearing picture book, featuring an irresistible kangaroo, the rustic charm of the Australian outback, and, in the end, a marsupial bundle of joy.

Polly Hopper is a curious kangaroo. She can't help but puzzle over the many wonders of life. But the biggest mystery of all is why she has a "shopping bag" on her tummy. Finally, she does realize what every little reader will already know-that her pouch is meant for a sweeter-than-sweet baby kangaroo.

The world depicted by talented newcomer Lina Chesak-Liberace is awash in nursery-soft watercolors and deftly drawn creatures. Full of adorable surprises, this is a comforting tale of curiosity, patience, and discovery.

A winning blend of humor and tenderness, her gentle prose strikes just the right note for preschoolers who can relate to Polly's continual curiosity while simultaneously feeling wiser than the bewildered kangaroo.
