One line description: A funny, poignant "party noir" graphic novel about identity, alienation and urban slang.
Short summary: "Poseurs" follows three teenagers from distinctly different corners of Los Angeles who meet in the underworld of LA nightlife and Hollywood parties - and get in over their heads! From the graffiti-tagged streets of LA's eastside to the bloated, billion dollar mansions of Bel Air, it's a full-blown party noir!
Full summary: "Poseurs" follows three teenagers from distinctly different corners of Los Angeles who meet in the underworld of L.A. nightlife and Hollywood parties -- and get in over their heads! Jenna is a shy, artsy Echo Park teen who takes a part-time job as a "houseguest for hire." She's paid to party, undercover, at lavish soirees to "flesh out" the guest list. Pouri is a wealthy and spirited Taiwanese "parachute kid" who's raising herself, alone, in a mansion on the outskirts of L.A. She hasn't been to school in years and pays a seat-warmer to attend for her. Mac is a nerdy slang-junkie/busboy -- he's the ninth most prolific contributor to an online, user-generated website of urban jargon. Youth slang is his freedom song. Together they become embroiled in a dangerous kidnapping plot that sends them careening out of control -- from the graffiti-tagged streets of L.A.'s Eastside to the bloated, billion dollar mansions of Bel Air, it's a full-blown party noir.
