Against his parents' and girlfriend's wishes, Evan risks missing his high school graduation to participate in the grueling eight-day bicycling race. Filled with spectacular triumphs, bitter disappointments, and allegations that Dash is using performance-enhancing drugs, Evan feels overwhelmed. There is planty of sports action in this YA novel about a gifted athlete who surprises everyone, especially himself, in his first prorace when, as the youngest rider at age eighteen, he becomes a sensation with his astounding climbing skills and all-around stunning performance.
