I’m not usually a big fan of beauty pageants in books because they seem to be either so focused on the beauty pageant itself or the rebel (hah) girl who is forced into the beauty pageant for whatever reason…but the way Candice Ransom worked the pageant into the story – it didn’t overpower anythin...
