Born in Northland, New Zealand, and now living the Bay of Islands, Robyn Donald sometimes thinks that writing is much like gardening. It's a similar process--creating landscapes for the mind and emotions from the seeds of ideas and dreams and images. Both activities can also lead to moments of extreme delight, moments of total despair, and backache. The oldest in her family, as a child Robyn thrilled her four sisters and one brother with bloodcurdling adventure tales, usually very like the latest book she'd borrowed from the library. That urge to tell stories, combined with 10 years of enthusiastic but unpublished writing, saw her leave teaching to become a full-time writer after her first three books had been accepted. With over 55 books published to date, Robyn sees her readers as intelligent women who insist on accurate backgrounds, so she spends time researching as well as writing. She also finds time for two adult children and their partners, a granddaughter, her mother, and a very supportive husband--not to mention the member of the family that keeps her fit, a loud, cheerful, and ruthlessly determined "almost" Labrador dog.If you'd like to contact her, Robyn can be reached at: P.O. Box 18240, Glen Innes, Auckland, New Zealand. Annie spent her formative years on the east coast of Australia and grew up in a book-loving family. One of her earliest memories is of lying tucked up in bed, drowsy after an afternoon's adventure in the rainforest gully that was her backyard, and listening to her father read The Wind in the Willows. She got hooked on romance early. In her teens she spent long afternoons playing tennis with her best friend. Between endless games on baking gravel, they'd stagger to her friend's house to recover, and in that house was an unending store of books, all with that distinctive rose on the cover. That's how Annie discovered romance and she's been addicted ever since. All those strong silent types, flashing-eyed Italians, haughty Spanish aristocrats and the rest. Daphne Clair, aka Laurey Bright, lives on a farmlet in beautiful New Zealand with her Dutch-born husband. Together they raised five wonderful, talented children, one of them an orphan from Hong Kong. She has written almost seventy romance novels for Harlequin lines. As Daphne de Jong she has published many short stories and a historical novel, both critically acclaimed in her homeland. She has won the prestigious Katherine Mansfield Short Story Award, has been a Rita finalist and has either finaled or won in other contests in several writing fields. Her online newsletter is issued once a month to six weeks, and is sent by email to subscribers (free). One of the most visited features on her site is The Writing Class where questions are answered about all aspects of writing. She enjoys passing on the knowledge she's gained in many years of writing, and runs courses for romance writers at her large country home. Kathryn was born in Africa, where her parents happened to live at the time. Educated in Ireland and England, she is a professional beauty therapist, but writing is her first love.As a child she wrote animal and adventure stories for her friends and younger sister. At 13 she was editor of her school magazine and wrote her first one-act play for entry into a Tidy Towns competition, and won. Happily 10 years later she was accepted by Harlequin Mills & Boon, who were the only publishers she had ever approached with her work.Kathryn lives in Lancashire, is married, and has inherited two delightful stepsons. She has written over 20 novels now and is still as much in love with writing as ever and never plans to stop.
