Laurel Bailey is a great detective. Her personal life isn't so great: she's dealing with her ex-husband who still wants her back, and trying to figure out what kind of relationship she wants with her new boyfriend, family law lawyer Alex Parrish. When a distraught father rushes into the police station to report his infant daughter missing, Laurel is eager to investigate. Alex is pushing for a commitment, and she uses the investigation as an excuse to avoid him. But her investigation ends up leading her straight to him: as more kids go missing, he's the only connection. When Alex is arrested, Laurel is determined to prove his innocence. She risks her career, and her own freedom, to dig into his life and his past. But the things she finds may not clear his name. Has Laurel risked everything for a man who didn't deserve it? Or can she and Alex find the proof they need to establish his innocence?

Since she was a little girl, Wendy Miller's imagination has run away with her. Putting the stories her imagination dreamed up on paper was the only way to get them out of her head. Being able to publish her stories and share them with others has always been her dream. As a single mother raising two sons and working full time, she had to put that dream on the back burner for several years. Then she was laid off from a job she enjoyed and, like many others at that time, had no luck finding a new job. With "free" time on her hands, she began writing again and decided to look into the self publishing route. Tangled Deceit was her first completed novel ready for publication. She is often working on more than one book at a time, because her creativity has ADD and cannot focus on just one thing at a time.Wendy lives in Central Florida with her two sons. Around her writing schedule, she home schools her two sons. When she's not busy teaching or writing, she enjoys reading, watching television and movies, listening to music, swimming and photography. Some of her favorite shows include Survivor, Sons of Anarchy, Justified and Longmire. Her favorite movie has always been Dirty Dancing, but Finding Nemo is a close second.Wendy also loves to hear from those who read her work. Whether it's a glowing review or an honest critique, she loves hearing what you think. You can reach her at or by email at
