Gabby meets her husband Darren's boss, Jake, for the first time at an unusual dinner party where they're the only guests. Soon, Jake is flirting with Gabby and her husband can only look on, as Jake calls all the shots. But flirting leads to filth and does Darren really want to stop the show?

"So, Gabrielle, tell me about yourself. Darren's mentioned you work in a college?"
I shrugged. "Just admin," I said. "Nothing special."
"It's a good job..." Darren started to say in my defence, but Jake just talked over him, like he wasn't there anymore.
"So if your job doesn't fire you up, what does get you excited, Gabrielle?"
"Call me Gabby, please," I stuttered. The way he was talking, I could imagine he was flirting with me. I decided I was misreading his signals. He wouldn't flirt with me here, with my own husband sitting next to me, would he?
Yet the situation seemed so contrived. Jake was now focusing so entirely on me, fixing me with that hundred-watt stare, that it was hard not to read anything more into it. I shifted in my seat, trying to stop my mind from imagining his lips on my neck. For god's sake, woman! My husband is right here!
"So, what floats your boat, Gabby?" Jake leaned forward, his long fingers wrapped around the stem of his wineglass.
I felt myself redden, as if he were asking me what got me wet. And at that thought, I started to dampen. I squirmed again. "I... er.... I'm interested in people. I, uh, I read a lot. You know."
But Jake was nodding as if I were revealing the secrets of the universe to him. His eyes didn't leave my face. When was the last time Darren looked at me like that? I couldn't remember.
