Serenade to a Cuckoo is a campy, cozy romantic mystery featuring actress P.L. McGinnis, who tends to dive into dangerous situations with nothing but a strong sense of humor as back-up. Portraying Detective Jocelyn Girard on the television forensic drama "Crime Unit New Jersey" involves dealing with corpses, high-speed chases, and flamboyant gymnastic feats for actress P. L. McGinnis. But when P. L. begins stumbling over "real live dead bodies" she's thrust into a mystery that mirrors CUNJ episodes, including a pursuit-on-horseback scene in the middle of the South Amboy, N.J., Thanksgiving parade. If P. L. can't produce an antique clock that holds the key to the murders, she'll be next on the list of recently deceased.
