Stephen Dedman's debut novel, The Art of Arrow Cutting, enjoyed rave reviews and a nomination for the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Horror Novel. Asimov's wished "this well-written first novel were the prelude to many more." Finally that wish comes true in a new magical thriller pitting Mage and Takumo against the forces of the night in Shadows Bite.

With the speed of the best thrillers and the noir pulse of urban fantasy, Dedman draws Mage and Takumo into one deadly conflict after another. Facing black magic, vampires, and the vengeance of the yakuza, these two friends never know where the next attack will come from ... but they're ready, with martial arts and magic of their own. And if they don't succeed, they might just be on the run forever...
