Synopsis

In the second book of the first series of novelettes, Holmes and Watson hear of a a dingy house in East London in which an oracle supposedly predicts the future. Holmes and Watson venture into the infamous Ratcliffe Highway district with its thieves, con-men and murderers to investigate the oracle and they find that all is not as it seems. Is there a dastardly criminal scheme behind the supernatural front?

Sherlock Holmes and the Ratcliffe Oracle is the first in a series of five novelettes, 10-15,000 words in length in which Sherlock Holmes, with trusty Doctor Watson at his side, tackles – rather reluctantly – cases in which paranormal events are suspected. Holmes is given a light-hearted chance to pit his wits against vampires, mummies, Japanese skulls, Elizabethan spectres and ghostly voices.
