I had expected something else entirely from the ending, and so I was disappointed a little, but it’s worth reading for the exciting murder mystery, and for Vee, who I thought was an excellent main character.
Full ReviewThere are some good twists and turns that took me by surprise. By the end, I wasn't sure who the real villain was, and my heart was racing when Vee finally found out.
Full ReviewVee’s voice isn’t consistent at all, and the teenage talk seems forced.
Full ReviewAll in all, I think Slide is definitely worth a read. However, I don’t think it’s a book that’s going to knock your boots off.
Full ReviewOverall, this book was a great read. One that I thoroughly enjoyed and I'm totally eager for more.
Full ReviewI didn’t guess the ending. I really didn’t guess it until Vee did. Sooo…with that said, it’s a great book I will definitely pass around.
Full ReviewSlide has a few good points but on the whole I was just not that impressed.
Full ReviewIf you're into deeply statsifying mysteries with unique and fearless leads then Slide is for you.
Full ReviewIf I had to give a word to Slide other than “page-turner”, I’d probably give it understated.
Full ReviewThe night I sat down to read some more of Slide I really didn’t expect to finish it, but I literally could not put it down until the last page.
Full ReviewIf you want to experience a different kind of paranormal, pick up Slide. I give this book is a 4 out of 5 stars and a Good Choice for Reading.
Full ReviewJill’s writing flows very smoothly from the beginning to the end. Her strengths in her writing is truly attributed to the descriptions that she offers the readers when describing her characters.
Full ReviewEven though it didn't blow my mind, Slide is definitely a book I'd suggest for all fans of murder mysteries - a rare gem in current YA.
Full ReviewOverall, I think that Jill Hathaway has created a brilliantly structured book with a strong plot and new storyline; some will connect with the characters and some not as much.
Full ReviewEverything about this story hooked me, not just the story and characters, but also the writing.
Full ReviewI would say that Slide is a must-read for everyone! It’s mysterious and full of twists and puzzles. It kept me on edge and begging for the answers!
Full ReviewSlide wasn't a bonafied hit for me, but I did enjoy most of the story and am certainly planning to read book two.
Full ReviewThe end twist was awesome and certainly not one I saw coming.
Full ReviewOverall, I feel like this book could have used at least one more draft to work out the kinks and make the less vibrant parts of the story explode onto the page, but it is what it is.
Full ReviewOverall, this book just didn’t feel original and that’s something that I feel YA authors really need to strive for in a market where there are so many books.
Full ReviewIf you’re looking for a great mystery with all those extra goodies tossed in, then this is the book for you!
Full ReviewI wish we had learned more about Zane. He felt vague to me.
Full ReviewThere was some insta-love between Zane and Vee, which normally doesn't bother me that much, but it seemed odd that Vee, who was very distrustful and withdrawn, would open up so freely to someone she didn't know.
Full ReviewThe murder mystery, Vee’s special ability and her relationships to both Rollins and Zee (as well as that to her former best “friend”) all made Slide a thrilling read that will leave you guessing until the very last chapter.
Full ReviewSlide is a great book which will keep you both gripped and guessing what will happen next. Jill is a great author who has a lot of potential!
Full ReviewJill Hathaway’s writing was captivating and extremely enjoyable. It makes me excited to read more from her, especially more from this series.
Full ReviewOverall, I enjoyed “Slide,” but it wasn’t perfect. While Jill’s story is engaging and well thought out, there are some elements to the plot that feel a little too forced and convenient.
Full ReviewI read it in one day because I really got into the story but there were a lot of little things that really bothered me too.
Full ReviewI must admit I was a bit disappointed in the mystery element as it felt a bit too predictable.
Full ReviewAs everything fell into place, I felt like the ending was rushed and would have liked more explanation.
