For any child who wants to know about ice skating, from lacing up skates to proper clothes, from basics to freestyle, Sophie Skates is the perfect introduction. Sophie takes lessons five mornings and three afternoons a week. We go with her to class and watch her glide, jump, spin--and of course, fall!--with both grace and determination as she prepares for her upcoming competition. Captions label skates, clothes, and moves, and provide advice on getting up from the ice, choosing clothes, performing spins, jumps, and more. Sophie shows us the dedication involved in becoming a professional, but most of all, she shows us just how much she loves to skate!
