The story line involving the mystery behind the Dragomir family I saw coming pretty early on (which is rare for me - I never catch on) but I imagine it will play out well. The politics in court are as always fascinating.

Synopsis

Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong...

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri's birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir's-and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can't wait for their real lives beyond the Academy's iron gates to begin. But Rose's heart still aches for Dimitri, and she knows he's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and now he is hunting her. And this time he won't rest until Rose joins him... forever.

This book leaves you with more questions then answers, but it was a great lead up story to what will be the final book in this series "Last Sacrifice." It was heartfelt, funny, intriguing, suspicious, and all-around entertaining!

The book was what it should be, freaking awesome! I have no idea what is going to happen in 6th and last book of this series, but what I do know is that it is going to one outstanding read with a lot of oohs and aahs along the way.

In the previous books, the heart-pounding action of Rose's life was always inter-cut with the Lissa's more cerebral, refined world. But now that both are living in the royal court, the action is more frequently bogged down in politics...But thankfully, a last-minute twist picks everything up again...

Even though book four was slow for me, this one started off with a bang (in the form of Rose’s graduation trials) and kept going. I never felt like the tension lapsed, and it even managed to surprise me once or twice at the end...All in all, I found Spirit Bound to be an enjoyable read.

I did however finish a few books before I left, Spirit Bound being one of them. I LOVED it! This one was also action packed, intense, tense, and everything in between. Emotions ran high (especially mine). I had a one track mind throughout the novel.

...I loved the book so much I HAD to put it down and take deep breaths because it was just too much. Love, Passion, Treason, Fear, Sadness, Grief, all these emotions laid on paper in a so intense way it almost became unbearable...Spirit Bound was action-packed, full of surprises, emotions and magic.

Rose's unsuccessful journey to Russia has left her a more mature, but thankfully still impulsive person...In terms of the overarching storyline, readers continue to see the ever-changing political landscape of Moroi society...The climatic ending was a complete shock to me...

The penultimate story in Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series, Spirit Bound, took my breath away. I loved every word of every sentence on every page...Spirit Bound is intense, fast-moving and VERY emotional. It blew my mind. The amazing range of emotions that Rose experiences throughout the novel come thick and fast...

Man, this series rocks. Richelle Mead is an amazing writer and she really knows how to keep a story going without dragging it out to an annoying point...I know this is a short review, but there’s not much more that I can say other than this series rocks. If you haven’t read it, please do start. It’s fantastic, really.

Spirit Bound was full of twist and turns my first time reading it. I should have seen certain events coming that I just didn’t. And the ones that were more obvious, I just wasn’t sure how they would play out...But so much happens and cliffhangers are left. And well…Spirit Bound still lives up to the 5 Stars I originally rated it...

Politics and personal feelings get mixed up into a whirlwind and the pace is extraordinary until the end of the book. Ultimately, I did prefer Blood Promise although Spirit Bound is an excellent book...Rose is an endearing and flawed heroine who's matured greatly in the last two books but I'm pleased to say still has her rebellious streak.

The plot itself was gripping, again opening up the Dhampir/Moroi world further. I really love the growing awareness of the servant/master relationship that the two factions have and the politics are genuinely interesting. The book ends with a rather excellent cliffhanger leaving me with no idea how that aspect of the story would continue.

Although full of action this one felt slower paced than the others in the series and I'm not sure why. I think it may be because usually Rose pushes the story forward but in this one she seems different...Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this installment in the series. Again there are some awesome scenes between Rose and Dimitri.
