Synopsis

Janie's foster-parents, Carol and Steve, love Janie like she's their own. Perhaps that's why they were so overprotective in raising her. That and Janie's innate shyness has led her to be somewhat inept socially, especially around boys. Despite having graduated from high school and being scheduled to attend college in the fall, she's never even kissed a boy. She’s nervous about it and has voiced her concerns to her mother, who has some unconventional ideas. Carol suggests to Steve that they help Janie get the experience she needs. Carol and Steve help Janie become more comfortable with herself sexually over the remainder of the summer. But Carol and Steve had been having problems of their own prior to helping Janie, and their experience with her not only affects Janie, it also affects them in ways they hadn't anticipated and has consequences for their marriage as well.
