Winningly, although there’s plenty of sizzle between the newlyweds in multiple passionate scenes, their efforts to build a meaningful partnership outside the bedroom make this a mature addition to any Regency shelf.

Synopsis

All were shocked at the announcement of the “cursed” Lady Claire Cavensham to Lord Alexander Hallworth, the Marquess of Pembrooke, especially since she is already engaged to another unfortunate Lord. Perhaps she will make it to the altar this time with one of these fine gentlemen! —Midnight Cryer

No one is left breathless at the imperious pronouncement of her engagement to Lord Pembrooke more than Claire. She hardly knows the dangerously outrageous man! But after three engagements gone awry and a fourth going up in glorious flames, she isn’t in a position to refuse...

Alexander requires the hand of his enemy’s fiancée in marriage in order to complete his plans for revenge. It’s his good fortune that the “cursed” woman is desperate. However, what begins as a sham turns into something scandalously deeper...

“Full-bodied romance...with intelligence and heart."—Cathy Maxwell
"Captivating characters and a romance that sizzles."—Eloisa James
"Will leave you swooning."—Sabrina Jeffries

The Bad Luck Bride is the first in a new Regency romance series from Janna MacGregor!

Janna MacGregor was born and raised in the bootheel of Missouri. Throughout high school, she loved science, math and all things related to the 18th and 19th century Europe. She even convinced her favorite English teacher to support her independent study. Stuck on Dickens and Dumas, her perfect curriculum included Hawthorne, Thoreau, and Frost. When no one was looking, she managed to sneak in a little Georgette Heyer with a dash of Barbara Cartland for the perfect seasoning. After a B.S. from the University of Minnesota, she settled in Kansas City, Missouri, the crown jewel of the Midwest. Janna writes Regency period romances based upon the wonderful Cavensham family. Their stories prove love is risky, carnal, and forever. When she is not writing and devouring historicals from her favorite authors, Janna practices law.
