Ryan Tatum served his country for three years in the Marine Corps and upon returning from Vietnam attempted to pick up his life where he left off. Finding the economy weak, his expenses large, and his will to work ignored, he took to the streets joining the ranks of the many homeless people in the same position in life. Through his strong will to not only survive the streets but to become a productive member of society and earn his keep, he managed to survive his ordeal with the help of many generous people and the love of his faithful companion Fella. Through each step of his struggle he did things to survive that not only surprised him but were shocking. When he met Ally he knew his luck had turned but little did he know what she had in store for him.
