Without ruining anything for you, the reader, this book is the first one since Dumbledore died in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince that has made me cry. It is an amazing real-life adventure...

...this book followed the same story line every Nicholas Sparks book does. Boy and girl fall in love, and something comes between them but love ends up conquering all. Although that is all dandy and good, it gets boring after awhile.

The Best of Me was not my favorite Nicholas Sparks novel but I enjoyed reading it nonetheless. Like with most, if not all, of this his novels, you will need tissues for this one. His fans will definitely want to read this book...

I like Sparks’ attention to detail. He puts so much effort into each character that one can’t help but feel a connection. Amanda and Dawson's relationship, the tragedy, the drama, the love, the grief... it all hit home for me.

As all his novels are, this one was beautifully paced and descriptive. I had an inkling of what the (sad, but kind of bittersweet) ending would be once a few key events happened, and I was thinking "Oh no," and then it ended up playing out that way.

There were auxiliary characters' points of view throughout the novel, and I didn't really get much out of their chapters...I just didn't feel like they added enough to the novel to enjoy wading through their stories. I would have preferred to see things from Frank and Amanda's points of view, with Tuck's story tying them together.
